Why Holistic Healing? - In Celebration of International Mind Body Wellness Day

International Mind Body Wellness Day is a time to celebrate the profound connection of mind, body, and soul. It is imperative that we recognize the balance between each. This can only be found through honoring our individual needs and living in authenticity via conscious choices day in and day out. My work as a coach is purpose-driven, where I bring to light the uncomfortable truths that hold you back from thriving, and teach you how to move beyond them for good.


DISCOVERING HOLISTIC HEALTH COACHING

Erica Jade Health began in 2019, and has evolved immensely since then – as have I. Two years ago, I became a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. The transformation of my work came as I explored deeper into the realm of healing in a holistic way. My interest in holistic healing was sparked by the conversations I was having with my personal training clients. I found that simply focusing on fitness and nutrition was not enough to get them to where they wanted to be to achieve their goals. I came to realize that addressing the mind, body, and soul simultaneously is the ultimate key to long-term health and wellbeing. That teaching clients how to tune into their individual needs and face their subconscious blocks, with grace and a bit of grit, is how I'm able to best help them in their journey to health and happiness. Without hesitation, I began to transition from solely personal training into holistic health, wellness, and life coaching.


As this shift began to unfold within my work, I simply kept following what resonated with my soul. I am grateful to have found my purpose within my passion and now continue to strive to help others unpack all that is weighing them down -- mentally, emotionally, and physically. My work embodies the belief that growth and healing are two sides of the same coin and it's self-love that makes it all possible. ‘It’ being the ability to create, maintain, and thrive by doing what is best for you and your unique body.


MY WHY

I've learned first hand that addressing habits and daily routines is necessary when striving to achieve goals of any kind. I've also heard clients' stories of lows and plateaus in their previous programs with trainers, coaches, or on their own -- oftentimes due to taking what I call a "band aid approach". This approach only addresses one or two areas of their wellness or lifestyle. It tends to avoid digging deep and getting to the root cause of the issues they were experiencing. Because of this, I've felt compelled to provide my clients with more than a cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all, kind of program. I offer services that are meant to teach, not just mend. I aim to empower my clients with the knowledge and encouragement needed to truly heal. I do so by connecting the dots between all facets of each individual's life and co-creating an action plan specifically for their unique goals and needs. I coach to help people become the best version of themselves and to elicit lasting change with continued growth.


We live in a world where you can easily seek out professionals in any area of life that you may want some support – in finance, in relationships, in the gym, with your food choices, etc. There are professionals out there that will guide you through change, but only in your self-identified needs. At the end of the day, they are there to assist you in the one aspect of your life that you sought them out for. A personal trainer may be hired with intent to help you achieve your fitness goals. However, without addressing mental and emotional health, as well as the subconscious thought patterns you have surrounding fitness, your results may only be temporary. For lasting change, we must dive deeper into our habits and mental blocks. Those that seek my help, learn that achieving your dream physique calls for far more than hard workouts in the gym and calorie tracking. I work with my clients to discover the root cause behind their mental resistance, self-sabotaging habits, and thought patterns. In doing so, they are able to realize their full potential and see what it's like when they allow themselves to break free of their comfort zones.

Holistic healing does not just scratch the surface, it awakens your soul. It shows you how to take responsibility for how you show up and walk through this life. Those that seek out this journey, that seek out working with me, are seeking this approach because they are really ready to do the work.


I teach the practice of honoring that our bodies are simply vessels for this human experience – that we are the source for it all. I show you how to be present even when parts are missing. Wholeness is what healing in a holistic manner is all about. It is looking through that lens and seeing the link between it all – the outdated coping mechanisms, the poor habits, the subconscious blocks, the unresolved trauma. The connection of it all, and recognition of such, is where the healing journey begins.


I believe that throughout our journey, growth is not linear and we are a constant work in progress, yet we are always complete. This approach is an invitation to self – love, advocacy, compassion, awareness, esteem. It is not just another tool in the box, it is the box. It will transform you by teaching you how to become radically present and aware of your inner being. This is not the one-size-fits-all solution that will lead you to yet another dead end. I serve as a guide, a mirror for my clients. I help identify where you want to be, how you want to feel, and help you get there.


This may be "what I do for work", but to me it's not work at all. It is my purpose in this life -- to bear witness to individual growth and help others realize the power they have within themselves to make their dream life, their reality. To help my clients grow through what they go through -- to truly glow from the inside out. To be a mentor for their journey to health through connecting the mind, body and soul. That is my why.
