故事發(fā)生在解放前的北京。丐幫首領牛二爺（韓善緒 飾）整天帶一幫潑皮橫行市井，孫豆汁（梁慶剛 飾）因沒孝敬牛二，豆汁攤被牛二搗毀，兒子孫六（吳衛(wèi)東 飾）血氣方剛，非要找牛二拼命?？救怃亜⒄乒衽c孫六同時相中李窩脖（王寧生 飾）的閨女李淑英（吳煒玲 飾），無奈孫六人窮志短，只好加入丐幫，仰仗牛二勢力擺平了劉掌柜。孫豆汁見兒子當了混混，一氣之下將他趕出家門，淑英見孫六如此不爭氣，只好皈依了佛門。谷掌柜與劉掌柜結怨已久，牛二為從中漁利，關健時刻出賣了孫六。孫六看透了牛二險惡用心，他搶走牛二的龍鞭，在祖始爺幫襯下成為了混混首領。上任伊始，他帶人砸了劉掌柜的烤肉店，孫豆汁揚言要跟孫六斷絕父子關系......
